Texting & Driving
Too Few Realize The Risk Of Texting And Driving
Cellphones have grown in popularity to the point where almost everyone has one. Their ubiquity has also quickly outpaced the development of etiquette and common sense on when and where to use them. People use them at the dinner table and in theaters.
What many people do not realize is the grave risk that is posed by using a cellphone while driving. The use of a cellphone while driving has a similar impact as driving while drunk. Too many people, especially young people do not realize how much of their attention can be taken up while reading or sending a text message while driving.
Texting while driving is illegal in Georgia, and the statistics for texting and driving accidents are astounding. According to the National Highway Safety Administration, “… in 2012 3,308 people were killed and 21,000 additional people were injured in crashes involving a distracted driver.
If you or a loved one was injured by distracted driver, we can help you pursue the financial resources you will need to help you through your recovery.
